Asian Studies Day at Langara College (9 Feb 2012)
เมื่อวันที่ 9 กุมภาพันธ์ 2555 วิทยาลัย Langara ณ นครแวนคูเวอร์ ได้จัดงานทางด้านการศึกษาประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียขึ้น (Asian Studies Day) เพื่อให้นักศึกษา คณาจารย์และผู้ที่สนใจทั่วไปได้เรียนรู้และศึกษาข้อมูลของแต่ละประเทศ เช่น ด้านวัฒนธรรม การท่องเที่ยว การศึกษา ภูมิศาสตร์ และประวัติศาสตร์ เป็นต้น
งานนี้ได้มี สกญ. ประเทศต่าง ๆ รวม 8 ประเทศเข้าร่วมให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับประเทศของตน ได้แก่ จีน เกาหลี มาเลเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ ญี่ปุ่น อินโดนีเซีย ปากีสถาน และไทย
สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครแวนคูเวอร์ ได้นำเอกสารการท่องเที่ยวไปเผยแพร่ แสดงสินค้า OTOP ขนมไทยอร่อยๆให้ชิมในงาน พร้อมทั้งแสดงงานแกะสลักผักผลไม้ต่างๆด้วย
On February 9, 2012 Langara College held the annual AsianStudies Day event. The purpose of this event was to show Langara students the many attractions and opportunities available in Asian countries. There were 8 countries from the Asia Pacific who participated in this year's event such as China, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan and Thailand.
The event started with a warm welcoming speech from the Dean of Continuing Studies - Langara College, who was followed by a speech from Consul General of Japan - Hideki Ito. The beautiful traditional music performance from Japan really drew audience attention. Each country had a booth representing their own countries, culture, education and attractions etc.
Besides the beautiful handicrafts and pamphlets displayed at the Thai booth, visitors also enjoyed various traditional Thai desserts such as Saku Saimoo and Woon Ga-Ti. Many students were interested in Thai culture and inquired about Thailand. The event was concluded with compliments at 3 pm.
